Match Notification Help

Enable match alerts on your phone and fix common notification problems.

Before you start

Register for your tournament on the phone that should receive alerts. After registering, tap Enable Notifications and approve the phone’s permission request. You only need to do this once per phone/browser for that player, unless permissions or the subscription are reset.

Enabling notifications does not guarantee a message for every bracket update. Alerts are sent for applicable match events. Your Recent Notifications page is also available from your private player link.

ANDROID

Enable notifications on Android

  1. Open Chrome on your Android phone and visit tournaments.jpdartproducts.com.
  2. Open your tournament, register, and on the confirmation screen tap Enable Notifications.
  3. When Chrome asks for permission, choose Allow.
  4. Keep your private Player Notifications link so you can review your alerts and open the bracket later.

If Chrome was already blocked

  1. Open the tournament website in Chrome.
  2. Tap the icon beside the website address, then Permissions → Notifications, and set it to Allow. The menu name can vary by Chrome version.
  3. Alternatively, open Chrome → ⋮ → Settings → Site settings → Notifications. Make sure website notifications are allowed and the tournament site is not blocked.
  4. Check Android Settings → Apps → Chrome → Notifications and make sure Chrome is allowed to show notifications.

On some Android phones, notification categories and battery-saving settings can also affect alerts.

APPLE IPHONE

Enable notifications on iPhone

iPhone web push requires iOS 16.4 or later and a Home Screen web app. Simply opening the tournament site in a regular Safari tab is not enough.

  1. Open Safari and visit tournaments.jpdartproducts.com.
  2. Tap the Share button (or Page Menu, then Share) and choose Add to Home Screen.
  3. If offered, leave Open as Web App turned on, then tap Add.
  4. Launch the tournament website from its new Home Screen icon — not from the Safari tab.
  5. Open your tournament, register, then tap Enable Notifications on the confirmation screen.
  6. Tap Allow when your iPhone asks for permission.

If alerts are silent or missing

  1. Open iPhone Settings → Notifications, find the tournament Home Screen web app, and enable Allow Notifications.
  2. Check whether Focus or Do Not Disturb is silencing alerts. Also review Lock Screen and banner display settings.
  3. If you deleted and re-added the Home Screen app, your earlier device subscription may no longer be valid. Open your registration confirmation or ask the tournament director for your private notification enrollment link to set up this phone again.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Not receiving match notifications?

  1. Check your Player Notifications page. If the alert appears in Recent Notifications, the tournament created it, but delivery to your phone may have been blocked or delayed.
  2. Confirm the right player and tournament. Each private enrollment link belongs to a particular player’s tournament entry. Registering another person on the same phone does not automatically enroll that person.
  3. Check site and phone permissions. Both your browser/web app and the phone’s system notification settings must allow alerts.
  4. Check connectivity and battery restrictions. Turn off airplane mode, reconnect to the internet, and review aggressive battery-saving settings.
  5. Check the event. Not every bracket change creates a push notification. Ask the tournament director whether a notification was generated for your match.
  6. Still stuck? Tell the tournament director your name, tournament, phone type, and approximate time of the missed alert. Do not share your private notification link publicly.

Receiving a notification once does not guarantee every later push will arrive. Push delivery also depends on browser and operating-system services.

CHROME SAFETY WARNING

Chrome says “Possible spam”

Chrome may warn about website notifications even after you opted in. If you recognize the notification as a legitimate tournament alert, Chrome may offer Show notification → Always show → Mark as safe. The exact options depend on your Chrome version.

Only mark a notification as safe after confirming it really comes from tournaments.jpdartproducts.com. You can also review the site’s notification permission in Chrome settings. Never approve unexpected websites just because they mention darts.
